About New Collection
Godfrey Tonk's work is powerful and full of light and colour. It shows the influence of the Post Impressionists and the Canadian Group of Seven. His landscapes depict France, Tuscany, Spain and his home territory of Cumbria and the Lake District. His present paintings are pastels and he will be the subject of a forthcoming BBC documentary.

He has won five awards, among them the Laing Landscape Competition and the John Herring Award from the Pastel Society. He has shown widely at a number of galleries, Harrogate, the Phoenix Gallery and many others.

He has also had a number of successful one man shows and has shown previously at the Nevill Gallery
