About New Collection
Ken Stroud President and Founder of the Wildlife Art Society writes: “A life-long interest in natural history and a love of the countryside, combined with hobbies of photography and art, has provided the grounding for my paintings, many of which feature my favoured subjects of wildlife and wilderness landscapes.
While elephants tigers, lions and other exotic beasts dominate much of the work, a concern for wildlife conservation, and in particular the protection of our native flora and fauna, foxes, badgers, otters, deer and birds also figure. This concern for the protection and preservation of wild subjects has prompted donations from the sales of some of my work to various conservation organisations or specific projects.
Other areas of interest include the native American Indian, who has always held a fascination and - a complete departure - are historic pieces, centred around the life and activities of the Elizabethan period. These pieces are derived from visits to a famous Elizabethan Manor House in Suffolk where reconstructions of the life and times of the house are displayed.
